Food Industry Wants Cancer Warnings For Toxic Substances In Food Gone
in Cancer News, Prevention @ 3:10 am by Know Cancer NewsThe Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has issued a news release alert warning about a controversial bill before the Senate that would effectively eliminate the requirements of the food industry to label foods that threaten our health.
According to the CSPI, the bill called the National Uniformity for Food Act S.3128, is targeting California’s Proposition 65, which requires the food industry to put warnings on food products with ingredients that increase cancer risk. Because products are reformulated at a national level, whatever happens to this bill and the effect it will have in the state of California, is predicted to affect a great many other states.
Sometimes, do you just get the feeling you can never relax and feel secure about what is happening around you? The shenanigans of big business seem endlessly daunting at times.
